Sourcing &
Standards

The Orbal catalogue is built on a repeatable, documented methodology. Every formulation entry passes through the same sequence of qualification steps before it appears in the index — supplier review, ingredient traceability, independent batch verification, and editorial assessment.

Six-Stage Process

From supplier inquiry to catalogue entry

01
Supplier Review

Supplier Qualification

Every ingredient source begins with a documented supplier review. The Orbal team requests chain-of-custody documentation, facility standards records, and ingredient specification sheets before any formulation enters the qualification pipeline.

Suppliers operating under food-grade processing standards are prioritised. Those with multi-year track records of documented quality consistency are flagged as primary sources across multiple catalogue entries.

02
Ingredient Tracing

Origin Documentation

Botanical ingredients are traced to growing region, harvest season, and extraction method. Mineral sources are documented against geological origin where supply chain records permit. Every active ingredient in the catalogue carries a sourcing note.

UK-sourced ingredients are assigned a priority flag. European botanical supply routes are mapped against seasonal availability, with alternative documented sources noted for continuity of supply.

03
Composition Analysis

Formulation Profiling

Each formulation is profiled against its declared ingredient list. Elemental concentration data is reviewed, and active ingredient content per daily serving is cross-referenced against published nutritional research to ensure accuracy of catalogue descriptions.

Where peer-reviewed research directly addresses an ingredient's role in nutrition science, the relevant publication references are held on file. The catalogue describes these roles using EU-registered permitted language only.

04
Independent Verification

Third-Party Batch Checks

Ingredient profiles in Orbal's catalogue entries are selected based on published nutritional research and undergo independent batch verification for quality and labelling accuracy. Each batch is accompanied by a certificate of composition from the verifying body.

Verification records are archived by batch reference number. Discrepancies between declared and verified composition result in a catalogue hold — the entry is suspended until a corrected batch is documented and re-verified.

05
Editorial Assessment

Copy Review and Standards

All catalogue copy is reviewed against the Orbal editorial standards before publication. This review checks that ingredient role descriptions use only permitted language, that no outcome claims are present, and that sourcing notes are accurate to the verified documentation.

The editorial review also assesses readability and consistency of structure across entries — so that readers moving through the catalogue experience a uniform depth of information for each formulation.

06
Ongoing Monitoring

Catalogue Maintenance

Published entries are subject to periodic review. Supplier changes, formulation reformulations, and updated batch verification results trigger a re-assessment cycle. Entries that no longer meet the catalogue's sourcing or verification standards are updated, flagged, or withdrawn.

A revision log is maintained for each entry, noting the date of last review, the verifying body, and any material changes from the previous version. This log is available on request.

Supplier Network

Where the ingredients come from

Region A

United Kingdom

UK-based suppliers provide the majority of the catalogue's mineral and botanical inputs. Proximity allows for shorter supply chain documentation and more frequent direct review visits.

Zinc and Magnesium Complexes
Sea-Sourced Mineral Blends
Cold-Pressed Seed Oils
Region B

European Botanicals

Central and Southern European suppliers contribute the catalogue's key adaptogen and botanical extract inputs. Supply routes are documented with harvest region and season notes.

Rhodiola Rosea Extract
Alpine Herb Complexes
Bilberry and Berry Extracts
Region C

South Asian Sources

Documented South Asian supplier routes provide the catalogue's ayurvedic botanical inputs. Import documentation and chain-of-custody records accompany every consignment.

Ashwagandha Root Extract
Turmeric (Curcumin) Complex
Triphala Botanical Blend

Standards Framework

The principles behind the catalogue

Transparency First

Every ingredient in a catalogued formulation is named, sourced, and documented. Proprietary blends without declared component weights are noted as such. The catalogue does not obscure what is known or invent precision where none exists in the underlying documentation.

No Outcome Claims

Orbal is an independent wellness resource focused on everyday nutrition and active lifestyle practices for men. The content is not affiliated with any governmental or institutional body. No entry in the catalogue makes wellness or performance outcome claims.

Research-Informed Descriptions

Ingredient role descriptions in the catalogue are drawn from published nutritional research and use EU-registered permitted language. Where a nutrient role is described, the description matches the regulatory wording precisely — no informal paraphrase is used.

Living Documentation

The catalogue is not a static publication. Entries are updated as supplier documentation evolves, as new batch verification results arrive, and as the editorial team identifies gaps or inaccuracies. Each revision is logged and dated.
